At long last the details for the Tank Aces League:

We will be using all rules from "Tank Aces" in the back of the Blood, Guts, and Glory book (page 86 on). You must read these in order to play in the league. If you don't own the book borrow a copy but be sure to read the rules. It's important. I mean it. Really.

The cost for the league is $5. Everyone entering and participating will receive a Tank Aces pin.

Wednesday nights will be league night. While games can be played at any time we encourage players to come in on league nights in order to have a chance to play as many people as possible. Besides, the USO may have goodies on some league nights. League weeks and league rounds will change over on Wednesday nights.

Round 1 willl run from Wednesday, May 16th to Tuesday June 5th (3 weeks)

Round 2 will run from Wednesday, June 6th to Tuesday, June 19th (2 weeks)

Round 3 will run from Wednesday, June 20th to Tuesday, July 3rd (2 weeks)

All forces must be Late War and from the Western Front. For the purposes of this event Sicily and Italy are considered Western Front. Forces that might have fought in and around Arracourt, Luneville, and Nancy are preferred but not required.

Everything you field must have a basic paint job. It doesn't have to be fully detailed but it has to have enough done to look painted when on the table. For vehicles, a base coat of the correct color and having the tracks or wheels painted is sufficient.

You MUST name your tank Ace. It is strongly encouraged that you also write a short bio of your Ace.

Game results must be turned in on the official Tank Aces Result Sheet and must be legible.

You must track your Aces progression on the Tank Aces Company Sheet and you must fill out your kill rings during play and your XP points at the end of the game. You and your opponent should fill out your sheets together and must agree on the results. If you do not have your sheet with you when you play you may not count your Aces' kills nor gain XP points. This may sound strict but I know that even with the best of intentions, filling out the results often gets put off and then everything gets muddled and difficult.

We will have blank forms available at the store. We will also keep your Tank Aces Company Sheet for you at the store if you'd like. I encourage people to do this as it means you don't have to worry about forgetting it.

It is preferrable and highly encouraged that games be played in the store. It helps build the hobby and local player community to do so and helps new players learn the game. However, we understand that some people are coming from far enough away that this may limit the number of games they can play in a week. If you live outside of the Columbia area you may have up to three games a week played away from the store count towards the league. You may not play the same opponent twice in a week outside of the store. Result sheets for these games must be turned in by the end of the turn week in which they are played (i.e by Tuesday night each week).

We also have a huge Trade Table where you can get rid of your stuff and get new stuff (sometimes more stuff than you started with!), a Crokinole tournament, a board game design contest, and lots of door prizes and drawings.

The convention is at the Sheraton Tower in Westport.  Westport has numerous restaurants and bars that are only steps away from the gaming, so you can walk out and get some food or beverage to take a break from the gaming.

We have a ton of fun.  This is our 9th year, and we have nearly 300 people preregistered, and are expecting another 50-75 to show up at the door.  I noticed when we were looking through our addresses that we had very few attendees from Columbia.  I lived in Columbia for 12 years and frequented Valhalla's Gate (and drove Katie crazy, I'm sure), so I know there are more gamers in Columbia looking for a fun way to spend a weekend.

We think we're very reasonably priced at $35 for the whole weekend, or $40 if you buy at the door.  You can also pay $20 to get a one-day pass if you can only make it down for a few hours.

The problem is we have a seven month old daughter and my wife works every other weekend. If there is a game out there that would fit or restrictions we would love to hear about it and possibly join. We are interested in most types of game systems, but lean more toward serious and darker RP heavy styles.

   I think I finally have the information I needed to post the details on our Wounded Warrior Event.

   I spoke with Tyler and he is fine with us proceeding with the event. (As a side note, Gary Sinese from Forest Gump, is going to be doing a fund-faiser for Tyler later on this year).

   Our Tournament is scheduled for June 2nd, 2012 at "The Gate". If we get at least 12 players it will be a National Qualifier. I am hopeing to get about 16 players to participate. I believe that Valhalla's can accomidate up to 22-24, although thats pretty tight. We will begin at 11:00am.

   The Event is Late War. You will create a 2000 point list for your first game. Using this 2000pt list, you will then create a 1500pt list. Again using your 1500pt list, you will generate a third 1000pt list. In this final 3rd round list you will only need to purchase 1 HQ and 1 manditory choice. The structuring of this is to simulate the ever shrinking forces that a commander has to deal with in a war of attrition.

   I would like to have your lists by May 26th. (Please leave at Command Central at Valhalla's or E-Mail them to me at Hylander6@aol.com )Those of you that comply will recieve an extra benifit for the tournament because you intell officer was "On-the-ball" Lists recieved after the 26th, but before the day of the Tournament will get a smaller benifit.

   The cost is going to be $16.00. $8.00 goes to Tyler, the other $8.00 will go to Valhalla's for prize support.

   In addition there is going to be a side compitition. Anyone wanting to set up a table using their own terrain can enter for an additional $6.00. The tables will be voted on by the players. The "Best Table" will win the contest with a peice of Terrain as the prize. Now if a "Valhalla's Table" wins, then the prize money goes to Tyler and Valhalla's. With the Terrain peice going to the store.

   Victory results will be judged on Performence, Sportsmanship, Army Appearence. Sportsmanship and Apperence will be voted and applied by you the players.

   Senarios will be revealed on the day of the tournament.
